  • Business Development Bank of Canada  - The Business Development Bank of Canada is Canada's small business bank.
  • Thunder Bay Ventures  - A Community Futures Development Corporation offering business planning assistance and financing for Entrepreneurs.
  • Industry Canada Financing Information - Finding sources of funding and financial assistance, as well as helpful tools and guides to manage financing.
  • Canadian Small Business Financing Program  -  Borrow up to $250,000 through the Chartered banks under this program.
  • Financing Information Guide Canada  - A guide for business financing.
  • Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation   - Two programs provide conditional grants geared specifically toward those looking to start a business: the Northern Ontario Entrepreneur Program offers up to $125,000 and the Northern Ontario Young Entrepreneur Program offers up to $25,000 towards eligible project costs on approved projects. The NOHFC’s other programs can also help business owners looking to expand businesses, hire interns and co-op students, or pursue renewable energy solutions.
  • Canadian Youth Business Foundation  - Up to $15,000 available for young entrepreneurs between 18-34 years of age.
  • Northern Ontario Enterprise Gateway  - A not-for-profit organization based in Northern Ontario focused on linking Northern Ontario angel investors with emerging and high-growth Northern Ontario based companies seeking private investment.
  • Paro  - Offers information on starting a microbusiness in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.
